The University of Technology of Belfort-Montbéliard (UTBM, www.utbm.fr) is a French University and Grande Ecole, with 3000 enrolled students. It mainly delivers the diplôme d’ingénieur, as well as Master’s and PhD degrees in the fields of electrical, mechanical and computer engineering. UTBM’s research is mainly focused on the fields of energy and transportation/mobility through several institutes and laboratories such as FEMTO-ST. UTBM is a founding member of Université Bourgogne Franche-Comté (UBFC, www.ubfc.fr), a federal university.
FEMTO-ST (www.femto-st.fr) is an institute that specializes in associating IT and engineering sciences. The institute’s work covers many different themes, from fundamentals to applications, and is structured around a strong interdisciplinary environment including robotics & automation, information science, energy, applied mechanics, micro-nano-sciences and systems, optics, RF and microwave metrology. FEMTO-ST comprises 7 scientific departments with a total of over 800 members employed by four different public research and higher education institutions (UFC, CNRS, ENSMM, and UTBM).
